The Society Crest
The Society Crest consists if an escutcheon (shield) bearing the cross of Saint Andrew, overlaid by a gold palmetto tree and crescent resting atop crashing waves. The symbols represent Scottish heritage, our state, South Carolina, and our location on the shoreline of the Lowcountry.
The Seal of The Society
The Seal of The Society shall be in the form of a Scottish Crest Badge with a strap and buckle containing the Society Motto and surrounding the Society Crest that is resting atop a gold heraldic wreath. A scroll with the words “Lowcountry South Carolina” is below the badge.
The Society’s Motto
The Society Motto is “Stare ad Aqua Ore”

The Scottish Crest Badge
The Scottish Crest Badge is a heraldic badge worn to show allegiance to an individual or membership in a specific Scottish clan – in this case, the society. Clan members, who wear their chief’s crest and motto surrounded by a strap and buckle, show they are a member of the chief’s clan.
